Steve Backman started and heads up Database Designs Associates, a longstanding Boston based technology consulting practice primarily for nonprofits. We focus on strategy, design and implementation of high value web sites and databases. We rely on industry standard web and database systems, including Microsoft .Net, drupal, and good old Microsoft Access, for all of which we have our own tools and methodologies. Steve came to software development from years of volunteer and activist work with community and grass roots organizations in Boston area and the two still naturally feed each other. Eric Weltman

Eric Weltman is a veteran writer, organizer, and educator based in Cambridge. His accomplishments include leading a successful campaign to close Massachusetts' medical waste incinerators, helping elect the first Latino to the Boston City Council, teaching an urban politics class at Suffolk University, and publishing a cover story on solar energy for "In These Times". Eric is currently deputy director of advocacy and policy for the Massachusetts Public Health Association, is a member of his Democratic Ward Committee, and hosts a show on Cambridge cable access. He conducts trainings on public speaking, using the media, and other organizing strategies.

Sarah Bennett

Sarah Bennett works with non-profit organizations serving as a database and web designer. Her specialty is creating tools that allow non-profits to mobilize large audiences to assist them in meeting their eAdvocacy goals. A few of her recent successes include enabling thousands of people to communicate with their elected officials through MassEquality.org, and helping people lobby for a fair and equitable contract through the Boston Teachers Union website, BTU.org. Sarah is a returned Peace Corps Volunteer with an MBA, currently employed by Database Designs Associates as an eAdvocacy consultant.
