West Coast on Board with Donations System

California joins the FEMA National Donations Management System

One Dozen States past Network Sign-up Process

Aidmatrix now counts 12 of the United States as part of the FEMA National Donations Management Network; meaning one quarter of the nation can feel confident their state government has taken concrete steps toward disaster preparedness. California, a state considered among those most frequently plagued by natural tragedy, signed on this week. The Golden State is in good company with Alabama, Arizona, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Texas and Virginia. After agreeing to the system, state personnel, nonprofit leaders and others involved in disaster relief efforts go through program training. At the same time California was joining the Network, Aidmatrix was conducting training in Mississippi and Louisiana. Currently presentations are being held around the country and 10 other states have progressed to final determination stages regarding the donations system. Click here for more details on the FEMA-Aidmatrix Network.

An interview “A long way to a smile” with Michael Kreitmeir

AidConnect Newsletter 10/2007
Focus of the Month
The Focus of the Month is an interview “A long way to a smile” with Michael Kreitmeir, founder and president of the Little Smile Association in Sri Lanka. Michael Kreitmeir used his own savings to set up the children's village. Since the tsunami catastrophe, he has all but given up his life in Germany in order to concentrate on the diverse projects. Reading the interview you will learn more about his vision and work - and further more about the problems and chances of "private" development work in Sri Lanka.
If you share similar or contrary experiences in Sri Lanka we would like to encourage you to publish your topic here - http://www.aidconnect.org/topic/default.aspx?location=_Home@_Topic

Lessons learned from Katrina, like Aidmatrix technology can "transfer to the public sector and draw attention to what went right." -- The Wall Street Journal, 2005

Aidmatrix Network ™ Collaboration offers Process for Everyday Use

The Aidmatrix Foundation™ was designated by FEMA to develop and deploy an innovative system for donations management. This coordinated approach connects private sector, government and leading nonprofit entities in times of emergency. It is scalable enough to leverage in disaster, but simple enough to use daily.
